Hi Everyone!
Thanks for dropping by. I really hope that you enjoy my blog.
Now for the introductions!
My name is Kate, and I am a 29-year old Masters student attending the University of Alberta. I also work at the Greater Victoria Public Library. I have never in my life completed a walk of this length (285km or 177miles), but have done several shorter hikes.
Now for my co-walker! He is my dad. His name is Brian and he’s…well, I better not divulge his age, or else I’ll get in biiiig trouble! Anyway, Dad is a very experienced hiker and walker. His idea of a great day is to hike up a mountain and enjoy (briefly) the views. He has done several hikes in his lifetime, including the West Coast trail in just 2 days!
Together we have hiked the Juan de Fuca Trail, Mt. Albert Edward and we attempted the Castlecrag, but got a little bit…ummm…lost (although Dad will deny it tooth and nail if you ask him!)
Well, that is who we are…to find out WHY we are doing this…check out the Hike for Change page or to donate check out the Power for Change page.
Go for it, hope you enjoy xx

I have no doubt that you will complete this ‘ walk in the park’ or ‘ superwalk ‘ or ‘ how to make my body hurt in every possible place ( and some places that are not possible ) ‘ , and I hope that you both have a great walk and lots of fun. Make sure that you take the time to enjoy everything else – the food, the beer, the lovely people and places. Love you lots.

You must try the Penderyn Brian. The walk is something you do when you’re bored. Let Kate do the physical bit.

Pleased you are enjoying it so far. Kate ‘veggies’ aren’t chips or French fries. I am sure you know that. We find that ‘veggies’ in the Uk are very good, but don’t include potatos!
Hope you are not too worn out after your first day.
